WHO WE ARE
UBB is one of the top Romanian universities, with its activity supported by over 1500 academics, 285 researchers and 1125 employees in the administrative and technical offices, and trains over 53,000 students. Overall, Babes-Bolyai University is a model of diversity, of cultural experiment, a pole of sustainable growth, a centre of knowledge and technological innovation.
The Department for Taxonomy and Ecology has approximately 15 staff persons involved in terrestrial and aquatic ecology research. The department’s research focuses on conservation biology, producing studies and research projects in the areas of cultural ecology, biogeography, land-use and biodiversity in plants and invertebrates, habitat fragmentation, invasive species and classical and modern taxonomy.
